CloseI have a friend who is coming in from overseas for several months and he needs a place to stay. I have room and have offered to let him stay here. Do I have to tell my landlord?
It depends on what you mean by "let him stay here". Most landlords probably don't care about guests who stay for a week or two, but several months could be a problem. I know that I would want to do a background check to know who was there for several months, who had keys, etc.
Give your landlord at least the courtesy of a heads up. They may want to do a background check.
